a sun-drenched clutch of ambient spirituals. mystic hymns born of the Nigerian, Jewish, and Baptist traditions.
in 2017, korede and chris flew from los angeles to austin. they spent a few days in the heart of travis heights at matt’s house, playing synthesizers and drum machines, walking around the creek, eating pretzels, talking about life, faith, the past, and future, drinking beer. this record just sort tumbled out of that time period. a peaceful gift.
now the three guys are a little bit older. korede and chris have young daughters. but the music they made over those fleeting few days is as grounding and deeply felt today as it was then. it was a pure expression: unplanned but tethered to the universal. like it had been there all along.
